Ricciotti’s Fantastische Vrouwentour
Dit voorjaar zet het Ricciotti de spotlights op vrouwelijke componisten en hun werk. Hoewel de positie van vrouwen en hun muziek gelukkig steeds meer onder de aandacht komt, is er nog een flinke slag te slaan. Reden genoeg om tijdens onze Fantastische Vrouwentour de vrouwen en hun muziek de aandacht te geven die ze altijd al verdienden! Speciaal voor ons schreef Componiste des Vaderlands Anne-Maartje Lemereis het stuk Be Witched. Samen met zangeres Ntjam Rosie als solist spelen we stukken uit alle mogelijke genres en door alle eeuwen heen van bekende en minder bekende vrouwen uit de muziekwereld!

De in Kameroen geboren zangeres en componiste Ntjam Rosie heeft sinds het uitbrengen van haar album ELLE in 2010 een trouwe schare fans opgebouwd in binnen- en buitenland. Sindsdien zat ze niet stil en volgden verschillende albums en EP’s. Naast haar eigen werk, waarin een cross-over van jazz, soul, gospel, Braziliaanse en Afrikaanse invloeden te horen is, zal ook muziek van onder meer Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin en Brigitte Kaandorp tijdens Ricciotti’s Fantastische Vrouwentour klinken.

About the Ricciotti ensemble
The Ricciotti ensemble is a street symphony orchestra from The Netherlands that plays for people who are not usually exposed to live symphonic music. Since our founding year 1970 we play everywhere and for everyone: on the street, in refugee centers, on airplanes, in jail and abroad. The orchestra consists of 43 young and enthusiastic volunteer professional and amateur musicians. The Ricciotti tours three times a year. Tour: Ricciotti’s Fantastic Females tour
This spring, Ricciotti turns the spotlights on female composers and their work. Even though the position of women and their music has been receiving more and more attention recently, there still is enough room to improve. All the more reason for us , in our Fantastische Vrouwentour, to give women and their music the attention they always have deserved. Componiste des Vaderlands Anne-Maartje Lemereis wrote especially for us the piece Be Witched. Together with singer Ntjam Rosie as soloist we play pieces from different genres and various centuries written by familiar and unfamiliar women from the world of music!
About Ntjam Rosie
Since the release of her album Elle in 2010, Cameroon-born singer and composer Ntjam Rosie has been building a loyal following in the Netherlands and abroad. Ever since she has been really active and released several albums and EP’s. Her music is a cross-over of jazz, soul, gospel, Brazilian and African influences. We will play together with her music from, amongst others, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Brigitte Kaandorp and her own songs during Ricciotti’s Fantastische Vrouwentour.
